John R. Buckley, Jr. was elected as Plymouth County Register of Deeds in November 2000. He is an attorney, licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Prior to being elected Register, Mr. Buckley was a partner in the Brockton law firm of McCluskey, Yunits and Buckley. In 1992, Mr. Buckley was elected to the board of Plymouth County Commissioners. He served four years on that board, including two years as Chairman. Mr. Buckley has also served as an Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Brockton, an Administrative Assistant to the Mayor of Brockton and a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Brian Donnelly in Washington, D.C.. Register Buckley is a graduate of Boston College High School, Phillips Exeter Academy, Tufts University and The New England School of Law. Register Buckley is the Past President of the Massachusetts Registers of Deeds Association.
Michael P. Holden, Assistant Register of Deeds, was appointed in May 2004. He is an attorney licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts . He has practiced in small firms located in Boston and Hingham , most recently at the Law Offices of Michael P. Holden. Prior to his solo practice, Mr. Holden was a partner at Devin, Duffy, Holden, Feeney & Barry. Prior to that, he was a partner at Holden and Feeney and served on the Board of Selectmen in Hingham, chairing the Board from 1999-2000. He has also served on the Hingham Board of Health and the Hingham Housing Partnership Committee. Mr. Holden is a graduate of Salve Regina College and Franklin Pierce Law Center .
Marilyn L. Marvill, Chief Executive Assistant, has been at the Registry since 1994. Her principal responsibilities are human resources and workflow coordination among the five Registry departments and two Satellite Offices. She holds a B.S. degree from Boston University. Prior to assuming her position at the Registry, Marilyn worked at South Shore Hospital for 15 years in several office management positions and was a teacher in the public schools for two years.
John Zigouras, Director of Operations, has been at the Registry since 1994. His principal responsibilities are to monitor the flow of registry operations and serve as liaison between administration and department heads, title examiners, and the general public. He is also the Emergency Coordinator for the building in the event of disasters or emergencies. John attended Bridgewater State College and received his A.B.A. in Business Administration from Quincy College. He is a Massachusetts licensed realtor, a member of the National, Massachusetts and South Shore Association of Realtors, and serves on the Board of the Scituate Housing Authority. Prior to his promotion to Director of Operations in 2004, John was the department head in the Copy/Plans Department from 1998 to 2004.
